This electrolyte undergoes electrochemical corrosion with the zinc layer with poor chemical stability, resulting in a powdery corrosion product - white rust
The main reasons for indoor corrosion of zinc layer are: high indoor air humidity; The finished product is not dry and stored in the warehouse; A water film condenses on the surface of the zinc layer. When the moisture content in the air reaches 60% or within the range of 85-95%, and the pH is less than 6, the corrosion reaction is more severe. When the water temperature reaches around 70 ºC, it has the fastest corrosion rate on the zinc layer
The methods to prevent white rust include: When stacking zinc plates, there should be no condensation water on the surface; The warehouse should maintain air circulation, and the relative humidity of the air should not be within the range of 60% or 85-95%; Zinc plates should not be stacked with harmful gases or excessive dust; Apply oil and passivation treatment to the surface of the galvanized layer.
