Galvanized Iron Wire is made from high quality low carbon steel coil through a series of processes, including drawing and forming, pickling and descaling, high temperature annealing, hot-dip galvanizing and cooling steps. In addition, galvanized iron wire can be further classified into hot-dip galvanized wire and cold-dip galvanized wire (electro galvanized wire). Hot-dip galvanized iron wire is produced from coils that are drawn, heated, re-drawn and finally coated with zinc through a hot-dip process.

The main function of the galvanized layer is to improve the corrosion resistance of the wire. Its surface is smooth, polished, free of cracks, knots, spurs, scars and rust, and the galvanized layer is uniform, strong adhesion, long-lasting corrosion resistance, excellent toughness and elasticity. The tensile strength should be between 900Mpa-2200 Mpa (wire diameter Φ0.2 mm - Φ4.4 mm). The number of twisting times (Φ0.5mm) is more than 20 times, and the repeated bending should be more than 13 times. The thickness of zinc layer of hot plating is 250 g/m².

This material is mainly used for products in various fields of heavy industry, light industry, and agriculture, such as planting sheds, farms, cotton baling, and the manufacture of springs and wire ropes. However, it is important to note that although galvanized coating prevents corrosion of steel, the superiority of its protective performance is highly dependent on the thickness of the coating. Zinc coatings may corrode in humid air and in atmospheres containing sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide and marine atmospheres.
