Product Description
Stainless steel is a group of iron-based alloys with chromium as the main alloying element. It contains at least 10.5% chromium and a maximum of 1.2% carbon, as defined by GB/T20878-2007. The main properties of stainless steel are stainlessness and corrosion resistance, which can resist the erosion of weak corrosive media such as air, steam and water; at the same time, it also has good corrosion resistance to chemical corrosive media (such as acids, alkalis, salts, etc.).
In practice, often weak corrosive media corrosion-resistant steel called stainless steel, and chemical corrosion-resistant media corrosion-resistant steel called acid-resistant steel. Because of the differences in the chemical composition of the two, the former is not necessarily resistant to chemical corrosion, but the latter are generally stainless. In addition, the chromium content can be increased to improve the corrosion resistance and strength of stainless steel. When chromium oxidizes in air, a passivated layer is formed, which prevents further corrosion and makes the alloy rust-resistant.
